It’s been a crazy summer here in the library as we undergo the first stage of renovations for the Center for Student Life project. It’s been interesting to watch as old spaces are demolished and new ones created. Here are some photos of the process in Special Collections, on the first floor of the library. We’ll post photos of the completed spaces once everything is done. Or you can come visit yourself!

Trench cut through the floor on first to allow for the laying of water and sewer piping.

Base of the shaft for the new elevator, in the space once occupied by Special Collections offices.

Putting in the walls for the new Special Collections classroom/reading room.
