It has been a long, noisy, and dusty summer in the library, but we have great things to show for it. The construction is almost done on most of first floor. We have a new quiet study room, and the new Special Collections space is almost ready. We expect new furniture to be arriving over the next two weeks, and we’ll begin moving books from temporary storage into Special Collections in the next few days. Here are some photos of the renovated first floor spaces.

Workspace for student workers, archival processing, and other tasks in the new Special Collections area.

We have both compact shelving and standard shelving in the collections storage area of Special Collections. Now that the shelving is in, we can start moving materials soon!
