From the Ground Up: 150 Years of Augustana Buildings

In support of the sesquicentennial of the college this year, we’ve assembled a timeline of building on campus from 1860 (Chicago) to 2010. The timeline is selective; there has been too much development and change in the architectural landscape of Augustana to capture it all in one display. Our sources include Glen E. Brolander’s book  Historial Survey of the Augustana College Campus (Augustana Historical Society, 1992) and the college archives in Special Collections. Take a look, too, at the “Treasure hunts” inserted in some of the labels. We’ll blog about the answers to these questions later. Meanwhile, we’d like to hear your answers here.

Also included in the display are selected post cards from the college archives that show various buildings on campus.
