Edible Book Festival, April 8

EBF is an international event in which people (yup–you and me) make edible creations representing their favorite book. The only rule is to use edible ingredients. A new category this year, “Edible Augustana,” in honor of the college’s 150th birthday, invites edible creations that represent Augustana–Old Main in sugar cubes? For inspiration, see the slideshow below (click on the picture).

Rules are few: bring your creation to the library on Thursday April 8 by noon. Bring along the book (or a photo) that inspired your creation. People’s choice voting begins at noon. Three illustrious judges will begin their deliberations at 4:00, prizes awarded at 4:30.

Prizes? Woo hoo! There’s the People’s Choice award–$50 at Borders, and then three $25 certificates at the Runestone Bookstore for Most Creative, Best Representative of Book, and Best Representative of Augustana.

Join the fun, enter the contest, and be sure to stop and vote for your favorite–cookies to eat, too.
