Banned Books Week

Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read and the importance of the First Amendment.  Banned Books Week encourages us to think about the benefits of free and open access to information and the harms of censorship.

Banned Books Week is celebrated across the country. There are many ways you can participate in Banned Books Week. Take a look at the display of banned books on the second floor of the library. Write something about what you love about books and reading on the posters on the second floor of the library. Read a banned book.  For more information about Banned Books Week and a list of the most banned books from 2010, see http://www.bannedbooksweek.org/about.
