How do you conclude years of planning and 18 months of working in the midst of a construction zone?  If you are members of the library staff, you do it with a party that includes a book-shaped cake!  This week, we gathered together to relax, enjoy each other’s company, and celebrate.

In addition to enjoying a construction-free workplace, we also were celebrating library director Carla Tracy, who was recently named Illinois Academic Librarian of the Year.  If you weren’t aware that our library job descriptions include “must have a sense of humor,” one look how we honored Carla might be an indication.

Finally, we celebrated the superheroes in all of us with a set of trading cards commemorating the unsung heroes who work in our library.  Eventually, we may even let you know our secret identities.
