What do cowboy hats, bird clocks and surgical tubing have to do with the Center for Student Life?
These are just a few of the things that made appearance during today’s Center for Student Life holiday party. After members of the library, Office of Student Life, Reading/Writing Center, and the Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center enjoyed a lunch together, we held a white elephant gift exchange. Items that showed up at the exchange included a box of hats and masks, assorted Augustana promotional items, decorative serving dishes, an apple calendar, a bird clock, a swimsuit, dessert plates, angel statues, assorted chocolates and Peeps, a single-serving of cake, a Hawaiian lei, and a jar engraved with a person’s name on it… that was making it’s second appearance at the get together. All of this, combined with assorted unused medical supplies from a coworker’s recent surgery, made for much hilarity over our lunch break today.
For some of these items, they have found a new home. Others? Well, there is always next year’s holiday gathering! Happy Holidays, folks!
